Citroen has extended the electric versions of its mid-size van, the Berlingo.
As well as the L1 versions, the Berlingo is now offered in L2 lengths. This comes with 250mm more load length to take it to 2050mm, while the total volume increases to 3.7m3 – still notably smaller than the 4.2m3 of the Nissan eNV200.
Although the official range stands at 106 miles, Citroen reckon that 80 miles is realistic in real-world driving. Even though there are no Eco modes to dull throttle response, acceleration is nowhere near as instantaneous as a similarly powered car – instead it offers a steady progressive acceleration with plenty of low down pull.
The gear selector is placed up on the dash, and the benefit is that this free’s up room for a third passenger seat in the middle – something the Nissan isn’t able to offer.
