Insignificant private journeys are allowed – going off route to pick up some lunch is allowed for example, as is taking the van home if you need to get up early for a one-off job. If it is used for regular commuting then it will be liable for BIK. What does it all mean? ULEV grant Since 2011, the Government has offered a contribution to those considering buying an electric car or van.
